The development of digital technology facilitated the learning process, especially in mathematics education, through various applications such as Photomath, Mathway, and GeoGebra. These applications helped students solve problems quickly, but required basic mathematical skills to produce accurate and understandable results. This study aimed to analyze the use of mathematical applications and the basic skills needed to ensure their effective use without causing dependency. The method employed was a literature review (library research), and data collection was conducted by reading and recording various sources relevant to the topic of this article. The study showed that mathematical applications such as GeoGebra and Photomath supported the learning process, ease of use, and improved understanding of mathematical concepts due to their practicality. GeoGebra facilitated instant visualization of function graphs, while Photomath enabled users to solve mathematical problems through scanning or manual input. However, the effectiveness of these applications still depended on the users’ basic understanding of mathematics, thus mathematics learning became more engaging and easier to understand.
